Refund Policy
This Refund Policy describes when and how FOMO processes refunds for transactions made through our platform. Please read this carefully before making any payment through FOMO.
FOMO is a technology platform that facilitates payments between users and partner venues. All payments are processed by our licensed Payment Gateway partners. Refunds are subject to both our policy and the policies of the relevant partner venue.
1. Wallet Top-Up Refunds
1.1 Successful Top-Up
Once a top-up to your FOMO wallet is successfully processed and credited to your account, it is non-refundable except in the circumstances described below. Your reward points can be used at any partner venue on the FOMO platform.
1.2 Failed Top-Up
If a top-up payment is deducted from your bank account but not credited to your FOMO wallet, the amount will be automatically reversed to your original payment source within:
- UPI bank-to-bank transactions: 5 to 7 working days
- Credit or debit card transactions: 7 to 14 working days
- Net banking transactions: 5 to 10 working days
If the amount is not reversed within the above timeframe, please contact us at legal@payfomo.in with your transaction ID and bank statement screenshot.
1.3 Account Closure
If you choose to delete your FOMO account and have an unused wallet balance, you may request a refund of the remaining balance (after deducting any applicable processing fees) by contacting our support team at least 7 days before account deletion. Refunds in this case will be processed within 15 working days.
2. Venue Payment Refunds
2.1 Successful Payments at Partner Venues
Payments made at partner venues through the FOMO QR code or in-app payment are generally non-refundable once the transaction is complete and the service or product has been delivered. This includes:
- Food and beverages consumed at a restaurant or cafe
- Gaming credits or game sessions at a gamezone or arcade
- Entertainment services already enjoyed at a partner venue
2.2 Refunds for Defective Service
If you receive a defective product or the service was not delivered as promised, you may raise a dispute within 24 hours of the transaction by:
- Emailing legal@payfomo.in with your transaction ID, venue name, description of the issue, and supporting evidence (photos if applicable)
- Raising the issue directly with the partner venue in the first instance
FOMO will investigate and mediate between you and the partner venue. Refunds for service disputes are at the discretion of the partner venue and FOMO acting jointly. If a refund is approved, it will be credited back to your FOMO wallet within 5 to 7 working days.
3. Prebooking and Preorder Refunds
3.1 Prebooking Cancellation
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before the booking time: Full refund to your FOMO wallet within 2 working days
- Cancellation between 6 and 24 hours before booking time: 50% refund to your FOMO wallet
- Cancellation less than 6 hours before booking time: No refund
- No-show without cancellation: No refund
3.2 Preorder Cancellation
- Cancellation more than 2 hours before the scheduled order time: Full refund to your FOMO wallet
- Cancellation within 2 hours of the order time: Refund at the discretion of the partner venue
- Orders already prepared by the venue: No refund
3.3 Venue Cancellation
If a partner venue cancels your prebooking or preorder for any reason, you will receive a full refund to your FOMO wallet within 2 working days, along with additional FOMO points as compensation.
4. FOMO Points and Rewards
- FOMO points are non-refundable and have no cash value
- Points cannot be transferred between accounts
- Points earned on a reversed transaction will be automatically deducted from your balance
- Points expire 12 months from the date they were earned if not redeemed
5. Discount Refunds
The 10% discount applied through FOMO is a benefit provided by partner venues. In the event of a refund:
- Refunds are calculated on the actual amount paid (after the discount), not the original price
- The discount itself is not refunded as it was never charged to you
6. Refund Processing
Method of Refund
- Refunds are processed to the original payment source wherever technically possible
- In cases where the original source is unavailable, refunds will be credited to your FOMO wallet
- Cash refunds are not provided under any circumstances
- Refunds to FOMO wallet are typically faster than refunds to the original payment source
Processing Timeline
- FOMO wallet credit: 1 to 2 working days
- UPI bank account: 5 to 7 working days
- Credit or debit card: 7 to 14 working days
- Net banking: 5 to 10 working days
7. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be processed in the following circumstances:
- The service or product was fully delivered and enjoyed
- The cancellation request was made outside the eligible window
- The transaction was flagged as potentially fraudulent
- The refund request is made more than 7 days after the transaction
- The account used has been suspended for violation of our Terms of Service
8. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Step 1: Email legal@payfomo.in with the subject line "Refund Request - [Transaction ID]"
- Step 2: Include your registered mobile number, transaction ID, venue name, transaction date, and reason for the refund request
- Step 3: Attach any supporting evidence such as screenshots or receipts
- Step 4: Our team will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and respond with a decision within 5 working days
